SCOTT FERGUSON

SF Projects is a Canberra based Carpentry company specializing in decks, pergolas and small renovations, as well as custom made furniture. With 10 years of experience as a Carpenter working across the globe I pride myself in bringing together a range of different techniques to produce the best quality finish. My experience ranges from small decks in the Canberra suburbs right up to high end residential and commercial renovations in central London.

Understanding the fragility of the environment we find ourselves in today SF Projects aims to complete all work undertaken in a sustainable and eco-friendly way, re-using, recycling and upcycling materials wherever possible. Maintaining a healthy relationship with the customer is a key aspect of the job, and I thoroughly enjoy working through the design with the client to achieve the best job possible.

BIO

Having finished my Carpentry apprenticeship in Canberra with a residential building company, I decided to travel to the UK to continue working in my field. I lived in various places such as Bristol and the Scottish Highlands adapting my skills and techniques to match each places’ style of building. This provided invaluable experience learning to use different materials in ways I had never seen before, to suit a completely different climate to what I had grown up in. From there I moved to London where my work ranged from renovating heritage mansions, to high-end residential houses in Central London, right down to custom fit-outs and various furniture projects throughout Greater London. One of the best things I learnt while in the UK was how to insulate buildings properly, an area I strongly believe Australia can work on particularly in the colder regions.

Having spent five years in the UK I decided it was time to venture home, where I have now set up my business in Canberra. I am currently undertaking small renovations, decks, pergolas, as well as the occasional piece of furniture as well. Recently I have started learning how to do epoxy pours for river resin tables which has been a challenging yet rewarding experience for me.
